The project started in 2020 as part of the Clwstwr programme (2018-2023) , which was an ambitious five-year programme to create new products, services and experiences for screen in South Wales and aimed to share knowledge and data with the sector. In collaboration with Welsh Governments agency Creative Wales, we updated and further developed the Atlas in 2023-2024.

The Atlas aggregates a number of datasets across the creative ecosystem in Wales from various sources. The Atlas is a work in progress and will continue to evolve and grow as the creative industries do.
